Introducing: the Ultimate Burn Training Journey

Designed specifically for fat loss, Ultimate Burn combines a balanced mix of strength workouts, steady-state cardio, intervals, and bodyweight HIIT.

This fitness plan helps you maintain muscle, maximize calorie burn, and boost metabolic conditioning, all while providing the Coach's personalization magic that makes every session feel just right.

More cardio, less rest between sets, and more of that oh-so-good-for-you burn to help you shed any extra weight.

Just like its counterpart, the Ultimate Burn Training Journey was created with Free Athletes in mind by providing the freedom you need to train your way while following a 12-week progressive plan toward fat loss. It features four types of sessions:

  1. HIIT Strength
  2. Conditioning Intervals
  3. Cardio: Intervals
  4. Cardio: Steady state

The workouts are structured to help you stay consistent and make steady progress, blending low-stress, high-efficiency cardio with short, intense HIIT sessions for maximum results. Customized Mobility Days are assigned on rest days to complement your tough workouts and help you recover faster.

Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new in the Ultimate Burn Training Journey:

New conditioning intervals

Conditioning intervals in Ultimate Burn are high-intensity sessions with no rest between exercises and only short breaks between rounds. Think our signature God workouts, but more personalized.

The Coach will assign mostly bodyweight exercises, but if you’ve got equipment on hand like Dumbbells, Kettlebells, Ab Wheel, Suspension Straps, or more – you’ll get those sprinkled in too. Rep ranges are around 10-40, depending on the exercise.

These sessions are meant to push the intensity with a mix of strength and endurance, while staying personalized to your fitness level and pace.

New cardio sessions

Cardio sessions are now assigned by the Coach to improve your cardiovascular fitness, combining low-intensity steady-state cardio with high-intensity interval training. 

With Ultimate Burn, you’ll experience a mix of cardio sessions, either as steady-state cardio or cardio interval workouts. Run, ride, or row, indoors or outdoors, it’s completely up to you how you get your cardio in. Every session includes a Warmup and Cooldown, just like your other Coach workouts.

Steady-state cardio

Steady-state cardio sessions start at 20 minutes and adapt based on your feedback. These workouts are designed to help you stay consistent, recover from tough workouts, and keep training without overloading your body, all while providing a steady calorie burn.

Cardio intervals

The cardio interval workouts alternate between short bursts of high intensity and brief active rest periods. The number and length of intervals progress as you improve.

These interval sessions are quick, time-efficient, and help maintain muscle while burning calories. Bonus: they’re a great complement to your steady-state cardio, helping you make sustainable fat-loss progress.

New cardio equipment assigned

In Ultimate Burn, the Coach now assigns cardio workouts based on the equipment you’ve selected. Head out for a run, or tap “Adapt session” to switch to the treadmill, cycle indoors or outdoors, or jump on the rower – there are now so many options to get your cardio in.

Since cardio plays a key role in fat loss progress, you can now choose what works for you to get it in your way.

The best part? We’ve also added audio cues for your cardio interval sessions to make your interval transitions smoother and your workout that much better.
