Joiey, a busy single mom of three, spent years prioritizing everyone else’s needs over her own. But after trying to eat healthy and exercise on her own, she realized she needed support to finally reach her goals.

That’s when she turned to Freeletics and joined the Transformation Challenge. And this decision not only transformed her life but also sparked a positive shift for her entire family. Learn how she turned struggle into strength with her story:

“Since giving birth to my third child, I struggled to lose weight. I was busy taking care of my kids while working, which left me with little time to focus on my health. I wasn’t eating well, exercising, or even realizing how unhealthy my lifestyle had become.

As my kids grew older, I decided to start going to the gym, but I had no idea what exercises to do or how to structure my workouts. I also lacked knowledge of proper nutrition.

That’s when I discovered Freeletics and thought, ‘Why not join the Transformation Challenge, learn from it, and finally start my fitness journey?’"

New goals, fresh approach

“My main goal for the challenge was to lose fat while gaining muscle. I wanted to get toned with visible muscle on the back of my legs and arms and to stop eating chips!

Having lived an unhealthy lifestyle for years, I’ve always struggled with nutrition. Junk food just became a part of my routine.

But I wanted to change all that and test myself to see what I was really capable of.”

Finding strength in the struggle

“The Transformation Challenge was incredibly hard! The discipline of waking up early to work out, coming home to prepare the kids, getting ready for work, doing household chores, and managing everything in between was exhausting.

There were so many times I wanted to give up and go back to an unhealthy lifestyle like most people do. I found myself questioning why am I doing this? If others can eat whatever they want without worrying, why can’t I?

But as a single mom, I have to be both a father and a mother to my kids. I need to be strong, both mentally and physically, and that’s what kept me going.”

A true balancing act

“Balancing everything work, life, and personal struggles – was never easy, but discipline and self-care helped me stay on track.

At first, I was overwhelmed, trying to juggle work, daily responsibilities, and my well-being. I had spent years living an unhealthy lifestyle, prioritizing everything except myself.

What got me through was a shift in my mindset. I realized that taking care of myself wasn’t a luxury, it was a necessity.

I committed to making small but consistent changes, like prioritizing workouts, eating nutritious food, exercising regularly, and managing my time more effectively.

Over time, these small habits became part of my routine, helping me build both physical and mental strength.

And when I felt like giving up, I reminded myself why I started.

As a single mom, I knew I had to be mentally and physically strong, not just for myself but for my kids. They are my biggest motivation, and seeing them adopt healthier habits alongside me made the journey even more rewarding.

It’s not about being perfect it’s about staying consistent and showing up for yourself every day, even when it’s hard.”

Ripple effects of change

“The Transformation Challenge has had a profound impact on my everyday life. I learned so much about about fitness, nutrition, and workouts.

With the knowledge I’ve gained, I’ve been able to serve healthier meals to my kids. They also see me doing home workouts, and sometimes they even join in.

My youngest son once told me that when he gets older, he wants to go to the gym with me, which motivates me even more to keep going.”

My advice: It’s never too late to start!

“I was never as fit as I am now until I discovered Freeletics and I’m 40 years old!

For anyone starting their fitness journey, the beginning is always tough. But if you set clear goals and stay focused, you will never feel lost.

Progress takes time, but in the end, we reap what we sow. Stay patient, stay consistent, and trust the process.

For single moms like me who are struggling to juggle daily life taking care of kids, working, managing household chores, and finding time for self-care I know how exhausting it can be.

Remember, taking care of ourselves is not selfish; it’s necessary. We need to be mentally and physically strong, not just for ourselves but for our children.

We are their foundation, their role models, and their source of strength. So let’s prioritize our well-being because when we are strong, we can give them the best version of ourselves.”
