The US Summer Vacation Pledge

Run interval head cut

What does summer mean to you? Vacations? Parties? Barbecues? Exercise? For many Americans, summer is a time to kick back, relax and unwind, but not, as a new survey from Freeletics shows, a time for fitness.

Make your pledge now

According to our survey, one in four Americans don’t plan to exercise at all this summer, while nearly half admit that they’ll probably exercise a lot less when on vacation. While looking and feeling good for the summer is important to most of us (over 60% of respondents, in fact), many of us use the warmer months as an excuse to sideline our health and fitness in favor of beaches, beer gardens and burgers.

But summer doesn’t have to be a time when your fitness goals get left by the wayside. A third of Americans also claim that working out on vacation helps them to relax and destress. Exercise isn’t just great for the body, but for the mind too, which is why we’re launching the Summer Vacation Pledge on social media.
