“Overweight my whole life, but not forever.” – Nicolás’ story

Nicolas blog

Ever since I can remember, I was overweight. Before I turned 30, I was diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure) which is quite uncommon for someone my age, considering that I didn’t smoke or drink alcohol. However, I knew I had to do something, since as well as having hypertension, I also have relatives with diabetes, which makes me prone to also having it.

As I was about to reach 105 kg, so I made the decision to take charge of my health and physical condition. I was determined to start training, without strict diets, whilst also remaining consistent. I just tried to take better care of myself.

I heard about Freeletics and started to train with it. Gradually I have been able to become more disciplined and build exercise into a habit. Since then, I feel more energetic and the discomforts of high blood pressure have diminished – it even seems that my pressure has now reached a healthier level.

I started very slowly with the free version of the Freeletics Bodyweight app. Now I have the Coach and I enjoy working out with it. It has given me challenges which I doubted if I could manage. But in training as in life, it is all about determination and focus in order to achieve your goals – and about not giving up when you see the first obstacle.

Today, thanks to Freeletics, I lead a healthier life and have mastered my bad eating habits. I know that there is still a long way to go, but I haven’t weighed less than 89 kg for 10 years, so this is already a great achievement for me. But weight loss is not the only thing that I have achieved – besides the physical changes, I have also gained self-esteem, confidence and determination.

I know the changes are not huge and the journey is not over yet, but I have to say that I feel happy with my performance and what I have achieved so far.

We are a community in which someone is always motivating or helping you to move forward. I want to continue achieving goals. I want to see how far I can go.
