My 12 Weeks Transformation: The Results Part 2

blog-12weeksTransformation-part2

The #My12WeeksTransformation Challenge started at the end of 2018 with the launch of the first Training Journeys. As their friends and families were preparing for the holiday season, our brave participants were starting their challenge.

12 weeks later, many of the participants had made considerable lifestyle changes. Six months on, we caught up with a few of them to talk about their journeys.

“I've always been active, but since going to college, I’ve become quite sedentary and my diet has steadily worsened. I joined an athletics club for a number of years and learnt a lot about listening to and looking after your body, but time commitments meant that I eventually had to quit.

I started using Freeletics in 2017 and was attracted by the concept of freedom and commitment. I didn’t really use it properly and just did the free exercises without following the Coach. While I saw some improvements in form, I soon reached a training plateau. I got fed up and quit, losing all of the physical results I’d achieved.

In 2018, my girlfriend convinced me to start using Freeletics again, telling me that, “you don’t know what you’re capable of until you try”. It wasn’t easy and my body cried out to me to stop; I was close to throwing in the towel, but letting go wasn’t an option. The pain turned into strength and I found myself loving Freeletics and the Community I had become a part of. What pushed me was not just the physical change, but the desire to understand how far I could push myself. I never expected that I could become so fit and strong. I knew that, one step at a time, I could achieve my goals. I’ve learnt to never be satisfied and to keep chasing my greatest version.”

“I used to be very active, but work commitments meant that I couldn’t dedicate much time to looking after myself. When my daughter was born, I had even less time for training and it started to show. It was actually my wife who started using Freeletics to get back in shape after the pregnancy and she asked me to join her. At first I thought I wouldn’t last a day, but I was pleasantly surprised! I found a love for exercise again and stopped making excuses not to be active. I’ve learnt that you can always find 20 minutes to train and it’s totally worth it for how great it makes you feel. If you want to change, you just need to get up and do it!”

Bruno, Spain - Training Journey: Shred & Burn

BRUNO

“I’ve used Freeletics in the past and achieved some pretty great results, but eventually I fell back into bad habits. In August 2018, I started training again and it was a bit of a shock to the system. I began to train with the Madrid Community and surprised myself with how much my technique and speed improved. By December, I was ready to start the #My12WeeksTransformation challenge. I’d begun to plateau in my training performance and in the results I was seeing, so I knew I had to change up my training patterns in order to see improvements again. I also started using the Nutrition Coach which really helped me to develop better, healthier habits.

Freeletics is now part of my daily life; I have better eating habits and I’ve become a better version of myself. I lost around 6kg throughout the challenge, but the biggest change has definitely been the increased muscle definition and strength. My abs are more prominent and I’m now able to do more technical exercises like Toes-to-Bar and Pistol Squats which I could never do before!”
